Japan’s third biggest carmaker Honda announced today that it set a new all-time record for worldwide production in July with 345,180 cars, up 67 percent from the same month last year.

From the beginning of 2012, Honda has produced 2,507,995 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 66.2 percent over 2011. Keep in mind though that last year’s numbers were negatively affected by the impact of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Honda noted that total exports from Japan in July 2012 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the first time in seven months.

The company’s automobile sales in the Japanese market for the month of July experienced a year-on-year increase for the seventh consecutive month (since January 2012) to 76,606 units, up 67.6 percent.

The firm’s best sellers in Japan for the month of July were the Fit (Jazz) with 24,157 units, the new N BOX with 21,837 deliveries, the Freed with sales of 9,905 units and the Step WGN with 7,950 units.
