Here’s another reminder that crazy stuff can happen in your own back yard and not only in Russia. A 22-year-old man who was later identified as Jorge Luis Balderas caused a chaotic scene on a Rialto freeway this past Sunday, August 26.

The incident started at around 3pm when police officers attempted to stop the young man who was riding a bicycle on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Alder, according to a report from The Sun.

But instead of stopping, Balderas started running away from the officers crossing eight lanes of traffic before he headed to the overpass and jumped from the bridge to sit down on the Sierra exit sign, where he stayed for close to two hours forcing police to halt traffic in both directions.

At around 5pm, Balderas decided to jump off the sign and onto an air cushion brought in by the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Video footage shot from a one Mike Powell who was at the scene, shows Balderas then making a run for it before police managed to subdue him with the use of a Taser.

The man was then transferred to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for a mental evaluation. The police have not yet disclosed any information on his condition.
