Not too long ago, we reported on the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG hot hatchback. Now, we have the first photos of its more spacious and larger sedan sibling, the stylish CLA 45 AMG.

Even though the Stuttgart automaker’s engineers went crazy with the black camo, some visual identifiers separate the AMG model from the regular CLA variants including, the massive brake discs behind the larger five-spoke alloys and the reprofiled side sills.

The production model will also feature a deeper front bumper with larger intakes and a rear bumper incorporating a diffuser. We can’t be absolutely sure due to the plastic covers, but it does appear that this prototype is sporting a boot spoiler as well.

While longer and wider than the A45 AMG, the CLA 45 AMG will ride on the same MFA platform with a 2,699mm long wheelbase as the compact hatchback.

As evidenced by their names, the two models will also share the same powertrain comprising a 2.0-liter force-fed four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 330hp (335PS) and more than 295lb ft (400Nm) of peak torque, and an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission with dual clutch technology connected to an all-wheel drive system.

Unlike the A45 AMG, the CLA 45 AMG will be offered in the States. We expect the AMG variant of the CLA four-door coupe to arrive in the market sometime in 2014.
