The launch of the lightly refreshed 2013 Grand Vitara (as the Escudo) in Suzuki’s home market of Japan earlier this summer has been followed up by the reveal of the European specification model at this week’s Moscow International Automobile Salon.

The update brings some cosmetic tweaks on the outside and new design features on the inside to keep customers interested in the compact SUV that has started to show its age as the current model has been in production since 2005.

Exterior revisions include the adoption of a new front grille together with a redesigned bumper, black headlamp bezels, a fresh choice of 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels, and two new exterior colors named Bison Brown Pearl Metallic 2 and Gaia Bronze Pearl Metallic.

For the interior, the updated Grand Vitara in both three- and five-door body styles gains new seat and door panel fabrics.

There are no changes to the SUV’s powertrain choices. Sales are expected to start in Europe later in the fall.
