We all know how popular (there's even a music video) but also how dangerous the Saudi Arabian street drifting practice known as 'Hagwalah' is.
We also suspect that all of you who have watched the numerous videos on CarScoop and other websites have surely wondered about the absence of law enforcement, especially with so many deaths and injuries caused by reckless drifters.
Well, here's a video that shows a police car arriving at a gathering of drifters, reportedly in Saudi Arabia (if this incident took place somewhere else, drop us a message and we'll rectify it).
However, the outcome is not what you would expect, as the crowd becomes hostile towards the officer, with one man even climbing onto his car.
The cop then gets inside his Toyota Camry police cruiser and tries to leave the scene while the angry mob begins to throw their shoes at him as a sign of contempt, but that's the least of his worries as three drivers start chasing him with their cars!

Brilliant way to show that one's country is full of brave men and law-abiding citizens! So a bunch of senseless youngsters have ganged up and chased a cop away. Looking for a medal?
They're lucky that the cop didn't take a few shots at them before fleeing the scene. Just a bunch of senseless idiots showing off. If this had happened somewhere else, those guys would have cooled their heels, at least for a few days, by using this video as evidence. Assaulting a police officer, destroying police property, illegal street racing, obstruction of justice,...the list goes on.
wow, you can see the tan SUV hitting the back of the cop car twice even loosing a piece of chrome.
Those Arabians are just straight up and down disrespectful, and they continue to make a mockery of the word "Drifting". Their reckless sliding of their cars is no way, close to even being close to "REAL" drifting.
This can be compared to a bunch of drunk @ssholes, who do nothing but rev out their engines, and act a fool for hours on end.

I'm Saudi, and this story is 2 months old, but the video spread late. The story behind this video, those drifters called the police reporting a car accident in the area. so they sent one policeman only, the accident turned out to be fake. then they attacked him like you see in the video, he was alone so he had to escape. Also, something you didn't mention, the police captured 70 of the people in this video and impounded 13 cars! and they're still working on it!
