2013 Kia Pro_Cee'd: First Official Images of Three-Door Hatchback

|

Official imagery of the third addition to Kia's Cee'd family of compact cars, the new Pro_cee'd three-door hatchback, has hit the web in advance of the car's scheduled world debut at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September.

The Pro_cee'd follows the introduction of the five-door hatchback and the Sportswagon estate and is anticipated to hit European showroom floors in the first half of 2013.

The new model isn't simply a three-door version of the regular Cee'd as it sports a different design from the A-pillars and back including a more rakish roofline, heavily pronounced rear fenders, together with new lights and tailgate. In addition, there are new fog lamp surrounds and chrome strips that connect the grille to the lights up front.

On the other hand and aside from the differences in space, the interior revisions seem to be limited to the trim décor of the dashboard and door panels.

We don't have anything yet on the available powertrains, but it is most likely that the Pro_cee'd's engine lineup will mirror that of the Cee'd with 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel units.

As much as i want to like it, the rear bumper is hideous!

Not one of their best. Quite ill-proportioned.

I really hope this makes it over to North America as the new Forte Koup

Looks good but they put such anemic engines in these cars that they just end up being sluggish and not really  any fun to drive at all. Unless those 1.4 and 1.6 litre engines are turbocharged.

I don't know if its the rear lights but something reminds me of the Veloster.
In my opinion they've raked the window line too high towards the rear: It looks far to heavy and the rear visibility must be awful. And as mentioned,  the back bumper with its stuck on platic panel looks terrible.
I'd expected better.

 Sorta, also Seat

Nicer looking than the Veloster or the new Golf in my opinion! If KIA could make it a proper GTi or Si competitor with a 200hp turbo and good handling then I say bring it on over to the States.

Heard that Kia Cee'd will be getting a GTI model next year, after this Pro_Cee'd's release early next year.
I will be confused if this Pro_Cee'd doesn't also get a high performance model with well over 200hp.

Unfortunately.... don't hold your breath.

Yoyo said... »September 13, 2012

This is a complete surprise to me. Looks very nice. Would be great if it came to the US just like this but don't hold your breath Americans. If it does they'll add 2 more doors and subtract everything that makes it desirable.

Actually, I am, because it most likely will
