These two sketches, allegedly previewing the Russian market 2013 Accord sedan, were said to be released by Honda's local division on the sidelines of the ongoing Moscow International Motor Salon 2012.
There are a couple of things about these renderings that immediately caught our attention, the first being the car shown here is essentially identical to the North American 2013 Honda Accord sedan revealed in the beginning of August and the second that it is wearing German license plates.
If true, this suggests Honda may offer the same version of the new Accord on both sides of the Atlantic – though each with its own engine lineup.
We will remind you that the current version of the European Accord is the same car as the North American Acura TSX offered with a different set of engines including a diesel option.
Talking about Acura, Honda's Russian arm announced that its premium brand will enter the local market in 2014 offering a comprehensive range of sedan and crossover models as well as the next NSX supercar starting from 2015 (which would partially explain why the Russian market Accord is the same as the North American model).
We'll try to find more details about the European and Russian market Accord sedan and update you accordingly.

Why do these 'sketches' look so more sleek and stylish than the real thing?
WOW!!! These pics look so super sporty and awesome!!! Anyone care to wager on whether or not it looks like this when it goes into production??? ;)
Why the pic of a VW CC???
I once made a wager like this about a girl in a bar......and I woke up un the morning with her sound asleep on my arm.........chewed my arm off.
Is that an Ingolstadt licence plate stolen from an Audi press photo?
they never do, just look at the 2013 american accord. looks like the front but the back looks more upright and less curvy. Oh well
I don't think Honda will bring US Accord to Europe. It is so bland and boring that no one would buy it here... IMO it is only sellable in the USA and maybe Russia. Let's face it... it looks like a car from late nineties...
damm is that an accord?
Um.. pics of the real Accord have already appeared online - look it up here on Carscoop. I warn you - you'll be quite disappointed.
Hugh, ya crazy b@$tard :) You type pretty well for a guy with one arm :D
@Farmer, you know, it's like Honda KNOWS what we all want when they show these sporty drawings.... but then the production version comes out and it ends up being blaaaaahhhh. Don't get me wrong, they've got a great bunch of engineers. But as far as their styling department goes...YYAAAAAWWWNNNNNN!!!!!
That there my friend is what they call, the $30,000 question.
I don't think they will sell the American Accord in Europe – the Euro/JDM Accord is barely a couple of years old – but in Russia it's a different matter; Russian roads are wider and many American cars and trucks are not uncommon in that country.
The German plates? They are just a "stylish" touch... those plates are what Audi usually uses in its new models' photography – IN is for Ingolstadt, and A6 is an Audi model (check: http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2011/05/all-new-2012-audi-a6-avant-to-debut-on.html )
Take this sketch, assume a 16:9 aspect ratio and adjust it to good old fashioned 4:3 - there, you got the most likely real appearance of the thing.
it's called exaggeration and stretched out proportions. If you would build every car exactly according to the sketch you would probably have a huge bonnet, huge turning circle, 26 inch rims and also windows too small to see anything.
I think you'll find that the Euro Accord is about five years old - I bought mine in 2008.
...and still it looks much more modern than this "new" US Accord.
since the acura brand will be entering the russian market, i think it will only be offered in russia. rest of europe will probably still receive the jdm version as the accord.
