Any doubts that we had about the authenticity of the single image of the production F-Type roadster found on Chris Doane's Facebook page earlier today, were cleared up by Jaguar itself that released a high-resolution version of the same picture.
As we noted in our previous posting, the F-Type in roadster guise looks more or less like an exact copy (sans the absence of the roof, of course) of last year's C-X16 Coupe Concept model.
If the idea of a sturdier and racier-looking closed-top model sounds better to you, fear not, as Jaguar will present a coupe version of the two seater, possibly by late 2013 or early 2014 with sales to follow in the second half of 2014.
The bigger image allows us to notice the "S" badge on the oval grille of each of the three F-Types featured here, suggesting that these models may be fitted with the more powerful version of Jaguar's new 3.0-litre supercharged V6 pumping out 375-horses (380PS).
Jaguar has already confirmed that the F-Type's lineup will also include a base model motivated by de-tuned version of the force-fed V6 with 335hp (340PS) and a range-topping "R" variant fed by the brand's familiar 5.0-liter supercharged V8, the output of which has not been disclosed.
The new F-Type will make its grand premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show later this month, and go on sale worldwide next spring. We expect more pictures and initial details to be released within the next few days.

Silver one looks like it might be a diesel.
OHHMAMA! That is gorgeous! :>
WOW!!!
that is a very fresh look. Im impressed. red is awsome
Sharp sleek and sexy, in a word beautiful. This is the first Jag that I've really liked the look of in decades. I would buy this car on looks alone, if they drive half as good as they look, Jaguar has a winner on their hands.
The first time I rode in a Jag I was six-year-old was, a 1969 XKE V12, I still remember how it that engine made me sink back in the seat as it accelerated. I don't think the company has produced anything that could equal that car since. Let's hope these new models represent a return to their roots.
Finally, a car comes from concept form to production without losing any of it's original flare. GO JAG

For once i agree with aaronbbrown!
it looks like Ferrari California
I'm not a very big fan of the front lights, but I like how they managed to add details from the XK, like the front grille, rear wings and the shape of the bonnet. Porsche should have reasons to worry IMO.
