The rumors about Porsche readying a sporty-looking station wagon concept - much in the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, for the Paris Motor Show turned out to be true as the first images of the study hit the web today.
Named the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept, the prototype foretells the future of the Panamera series previewing the next generation model's design language, the addition of a second body style and judging by the ghost picture and the 'e-Hybrid' badge on the front door, a plug-in hybrid variant.
The lines and styling elements of the Panamera Sport Turismo including certain elements such as the shape of the headlamps and tail lamps, clearly inherit the design DNA of Porsche's latest models like the Boxster, 918 Spyder and the 991.
We will have more on the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept, possibly later in the day, but for now, head over the break to check out the photos in detail and share your thoughts on Porsche's new direction in the comments area below.

They should name it the "Less uglier Panamera"..
Looks along the lines of a four-door version of the Ferrari FF (if this were to be). I actually like it...for a change.
Love at first site! Aston Rapide in the front fenders and curve on the windscreen, mixed with the rear roofline from the Cayenne.. Perfect match for this type of car! It´s actually really nice to see that they got rid of the 911-ish roofline and borrowed more from the cayenne´s, much more natural thing to have on a car like this. Just as good looking as the 991 which is spectacular in my oinion, but in it´s own way for it´s own niche, Perfect!
Wow! Excellent design. Sporty, modern & practical. The headlights need to grow on me however I'm sure there's something extra special about them. I was expecting to see rows of cockpit style buttons when I viewed the interior but Porsche designers cleaned up the controls incredibly well while adding larger digital displays for navigation and rear viewing. In awd form I would consider it over a Cayenne - I would even be interested in the hybrid if the technology allowed for much greater fuel economy without too much loss to performance (unlike their present offerings). I hope its made and brought to North America's shores unlike the CLS63 Wagon and RS6 Avant and even if its merely a preview to a sleeker Panamera redesign, Porsche is on the right course.
They shoud make a big coupe, something like 928, but not this crap.... nice interior though..
no mirrors?
All full LED headlights look weird like that until you see them at night.
now this is cost cutting! Seems that next generation of Cayenne and Panamera can share not just some small details but the whole body! All they need is to add road clearance and fatter bumpers and behold - new sportier Cayenne :P
And I do like this wagon better than Panamera.
