It’s never a boring day on Russian roads as there’s always something interesting to be captured on film by the myriad of dashboard-mounted cameras used by local drivers.
Just the other day (never mind the 2100 date on the video), a resident of the Russian town of Zheleznogorsk, which as we learned, was established in 1950 for the production of weapons-grade plutonium, was minding his own business when all of a sudden thunder struck down on the road at the same time that a Toyota Land Cruiser was passing by.
As it turned out, the Japanese SUV in front of the car that was recording the incident belonged to the mayor of the town, Vadim Medvedev, but he wasn’t on board as the car was being driven by his chauffeur.
Local news reports said that while the Toyota Land Cruiser wasn’t hit directly, the vehicle’s electronics failed shortly after the lightning hit and the SUV had to be towed for repairs. No one was injured in the incident.
