Pfff…Ford Redoes 2013 Focus ST vs. VW Golf GTI Video, Takes Gittin Jr.'s Mustang Out of the Picture…

|

It has been almost two months since Ford published the third episode of its "Focus ST Sessions" web on August 29, only to remove the video a few hours later, without ever explaining why it did so.

Now we see that the Blue Oval has re-launched the clip under the new title "(Abandoned) Block Party", again featuring the Focus ST versus the VW Golf GTI Mk6 with professional drivers Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin Jr. taking the wheel. Obviously, you will be wondering if Ford changed anything in the latest clip.

Well, if our memory serves us right (if not, feel free to correct us in the comments area), the only difference we noticed is that the automaker removed the last scene when Gittin Jr. parks the GTI and jumps into his drift-prepped Mustang.

In this video, instead of getting into his V8-powered 'Stang, Gittin Jr. is filmed heading towards the blue Focus ST. Guess that worked better with Ford's marketing team, too bad for them that we noticed it…

This is the kind of contest board typically chooses these days, with a car that has a third less power and is 10 to 15 years out of date. Why didn't they choose a car with equal performance numbers? Why can't they get their car against a more comparable competitor?

This is just pathetic ... Why didn't they choose cars with the same power ?? I bet that if the Megane RS was sold in the US this ad would have never existed ;) and this new Focus is just awful (my point if view).
