Not that we weren't expecting at least one of the sports coupe models that came out of the relationship between the Toyota group and Subaru to feature in the sixth chapter of the Fast and Furious franchise, but U.S. magazine Motor Trend says it has learned that the car will be the Subaru BRZ.
In particular, the publication says Subaru has reportedly supplied as many as five BRZ's for the "Fast and the Furious 6" film that is scheduled for release on May 24, 2013.
In related news, we looked around and found a handful of videos from the London filming set as well as a scene of a bridge being blown up while the "Fast 6" crew was shooting in Tenerife, the largest and most populous of the seven Canary Islands.
There's also a picture of a full carbon fiber-bodied Pagani Zonda that was released by the Fast and Furious crew.
The sixth installment of the series will see Vin Diesel returning as Dominic Toretto, Paul Walker as Brian O'Conner, Michelle Rodriguez as Leticia Ortiz, Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges as Tej Parker, among other stars.

It has got to be fun to work on this set!
Really? A BRZ?
Sigh.
Some serious $ from Toyota must have happened for the 86/scion/BRZ to be in this, unless it's a drifting scene or something where that car is meant to compete. Perhaps it's marketing propaganda to entice people to buy that cool looking car and sink tuning $ into it. I don't know the story line yet, but if they are criminals with big money, the zonda, LFA, etc., all would be cool, but they are unrealistic for the people buying movie tix.
I fucking hate each and every one of you that continues to allow this type of bullshit to happen. Thanks for now upping the prices of new and Used BRZs and GT86's for the next 10 fucking years, like with the Supra.
Seroiusly. Die in a fucking fire, or drink bleach. Or both.
But kindly fuck off until you're six feet under.
This, my friend, is how you do marketing. If you want to sell stuff, you need to present it to the people, to your target group. And if you're smart, you teram up with someone having the same target group, just like in this case: Subaru/Toyota teamed up with FnF creators to present the BRZ. The car is cool and affordable. People will buy it. And Haters gonna hate.
Another nice example: You remember that crappy gay vampire movie series? Volvo paid some money so they could have their car in it. Now guess which cars sales rate rocketed high in the air? The exact model that was in the movie.
Also the price of new BRZs will not rise.
