Convoys of two, three or more cars following either a government official or one of the wealthy capitalists that emerged in Russia after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, is nothing new, but watching these vehicles crash into each other is something we don't get to see very often, if at all.
According to the date displayed on the dashcam video, an incident of this sort happened last Friday, October 19, when what we assume to be the security personnel riding in Cadillac Escalade SUVs were trying to keep up to their boss who was in a black Maybach saloon, while also prohibiting any other vehicles from breaking their formation.
What they weren't expecting was a fourth, unrelated Audi A4 that evidently slowed down to enter into the left lane of the road.
Due the short distance kept between the three vehicles, once the Maybach rear-ended the Audi, the Cadillac SUVs had little to no room to wiggle and came crashing in from behind.

It looks like this accident was caused by the orange grate opening up on the roadway, and the Honda Civic stopping.

Yeep, but than You probably don't know, that Escalades are produced in Russia (Kaliningrad) too...
Btw. the VIP was ridden in that Maybach and in these two Escalades was his private (stupid) security team - their moves on the road were typical for an automotive security convoy (stick tight together on the road, fast manoeuvres, often line changes etc.). Damn, that was epic! :-D
