2013 Cadillac XTS Sedan Experiences its First Recall

|

General Motors has issued the first recall for its 2013 Cadillac XTS saloon that was launched in the U.S. market in the second quarter of the year.

The Detroit automaker told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that on certain models, the rear seat head restraints might not lock in the upright position after being folded forward.

The safety agency said that if this were to happen during a crash, it would increase the risk of neck injury for the rear passengers.

The affected 2013 Cadillac XTS vehicles were manufactured from October 12, 2011, through August 30, 2012.

General Motors said its dealers will replace the head restraints, free of charge, with the recall to begin this week.

I just hope they get all the bugs and problems fixed with this car before the new impala hits the market in the the first quarter of 2013 since there based on the same platform. Because I currently own the current generation of the impala and plan buying the new one. Does anyone know if GM has any plans on coming out with an SS version?
