2013 Toyota RAV4: Check it Out in Detail in These High-Resolution Images

|

We've been following the upcoming 2013 Toyota RAV4 closely over the past few months and now, after the spy pictures, our own speculative rendering, and several official, but low resolution, images, we can finally show you what you've been waiting for: high resolution imagery of the new model.

Toyota's designers have modernized the looks of the popular on both sides of the Atlantic RAV4, applying familiar styling cues from their more recent models like the Auris hatchback and estate giving the SUV a sharper appearance.

The new compact crossover looks like it also features a larger footprint, which if true, should improve passenger and possibly luggage space, while the interior boasts more upscale materials, such as the leather trim on the dashboard of the display vehicle.

We have nothing official yet on the 2013 RAV4's specifications, but it has been rumored for a while now that the North American model may drop the V6 option and follow the example of the rivaling Honda CR-V offering a single four-cylinder engine.

In other regions like Europe, the new RAV4 will be available with diesel units as well, possibly sourced from the BMW Group as part of an agreement signed between the two automakers.

Stay tuned for more as the 2013 RAV4 will make its global debut later today at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

This is an awesome new design. Though I won't pass judgement on the RAV4 interior until I can sit in one and see for myself. Toyota's RAV4 is competing in the same market as the Honda CRV, Mazda CX-5, Ford Escape. All of these models have sleek designs to make them more appealing than the old truck-like boxy body style which was tired and finally put to rest. Consumers are flocking to the more car-like CUV's these days. I predict that this new RAV4 will be a super success for Toyota.

I like it. I really like the front. I really hate the open storage area on the passenger side in the interior. I'm not a big fan of the dinner plate sized speedo. Why do they make 'em so freakin big? Ford did the same thing with the new Fusion. It really p!$$e$ me off.

This new Rav4 is stunning. I love the exterior design & the interior looks amazing. This design follows the current trend in SUV/CUV design. 1 of the best looking interiors in the class unlike the CX-5's boring interior (dash has absolutely no flare). My only issue is the single cup holder. Who made that decision? Great job Toyota. Nissan needs to reveal the next gen rogue &/or x-trial. Nissan is now the only company left to introduced their redesigned SUV/CUV for this class.

I still prefer the CX5 interior... See the RAV4 doesnt seem to get its doors aligned with dashboard, and the big empty space facing the passenger :(

Take an Acura RDX, mix it well with a Mazda CX5..... Sprinkle a bit of Nissan Murano on top..... and........ POOF! The new RAV4

Prefer the side door opening:(:( Easier to control getting dogs in and out. I guess I will be keeping my 2012.

It's ugly, fussy, lacks cohesion and doesn't flow well from front to back. Nothing but a half arsed attempt (as usual) at trying to be sporty and attractive following the success of the Kia Sportage and Mazda CX5.
