At the end of the month, we will have the opportunity to see the next generation of the Subaru Forester in the flesh during its world premiere at the 2012 Los Angeles Autos Show, but in the meantime, we have a ton of new and high-resolution photos of the Japanese Domestic Market model (JDM) to share with you.
The cosmetic differences between the JDM Forester and the international market model will be limited to some minor details, so what you see here, is what you will get when the crossover hits showrooms towards the end of the year or early 2013, depending on the country.
The gallery includes the first official photos of the interior with the dashboard being an almost exact copy of that found in the latest Impreza and XV models, minus some trim upgrades such as the aluminum finishes on the lower part of the center console.
The new and slightly bigger Forester goes on sale in Japan on Tuesday, November 13, with a choice of two petrol engines a 146hp (148PS) 2.0-liter flat four offered with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, and a 276hp (280PS) 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer connected exclusively to a CVT.
Subaru has already informed us that the North American market model will launch with an entry-level 2.5-liter boxer churning out 170hp, linked to a 6-speed manual shift or a CVT, and a new, 250-horsepower, 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged boxer available only with a CVT.
For now, make the hop over the break to check out the complete photo gallery of the 2014 Forester.

a lot of images regarding electric tailgate.
it appears that it is the most important feature for new forester
well done subaru. what an achievement!
and 146hp from a 2.0 was only impressive 20 years ago
No one ever bought a Subaru Forester for it's looks, fortunately, because they are all pretty much the next bunch of random styling cues trying to look practical. People buy them because they smallish, practical, reasonably priced, have the flat engine and AWD, and a reputation for doing things a bit differently. And people buy them because they are lesbians.
That silver insert on the dash is awfully similar to the Passat's.
It does look a better quality interior than the last version.
Looks like the current car with different tail lights.
Why Subaru is making so boring and unattractive interiors?
Yes, it possible to build depressing into an automobile.
They made it uglier than the last gen, which was bland but at least it wasn't ugly. The front of the
new car is really bad. Sube obviously does not know how to style front ends.
In what way is a Forester lesbian?
It just looks like an old Kia to me.
Luckily, Subaru's 2.0 makes 276hp (more than VW or Ford)
Not a fan of the new front.
And attached to a boring CVT transmission. Actually Australia will only get a 177Kw version of this engine
not bad except for the ugly taillights
I like how they didn't even try designing the center console.
In the states, when Subaru was just a one-off Japanese car company, there was a study done and it turned out a majority of lesbians bought Subaru's. So much so, that Subaru would be a sponsor at many lesbian-centric events like the Virginia Slims golf tournaments and advertised in gay magazines too. Swear to God; not making this stuff up.
Couldn't say it better. "Innovation" is still the missing word in Subaru's dictionary...
Subaru :- Subaru would be the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries. Subaru is internationally known as for the utilization of the boxer engine layout practically in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc and its standby and call time all wheel drive drive-train layout since 1972, with it becoming standard equipment for mid-size and smaller cars generally in most international markets at the time of 1996, and from now on standard in all of the North American market Subaru vehicles.
