9ff Brings New Porsche 911-Based GT9 Vmax with 1,381hp to Essen Motor Show

|

When it comes to insane Porsche builds, few companies can compete with Germany's 9ff and especially its crown jewel, the GT9, which is appearing in an updated form at this week's 2012 Essen Motor Show.

The GT9 Vmax is a new edition of the 9ff's supercar that is loosely based on the previous Porsche 911.

Whereas the original GT9 was available in outputs ranging from 750 to 973hp (760 to 986PS) and the GT9-R with up to 1,120hp (1,140PS), the Vmax's 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six churns out a Veyron-beating 1,381hp (1,400PS) at 7,950 rpm and 1,160 Nm (855 lb-ft) at 5,600 rpm.

The mid-mounted engine drives the wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, with 9ff quoting a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 3.1 seconds, 0-200km/h (124mph) in 6.8 seconds and 0-300km/h (186mph) in 13 seconds flat.

9ff's supercar has a kerb weight of 1,340kg or 2,954 pounds and is said to be able to reach a top speed of 437km/h (!) or 272mph.

Matching its impressive performance numbers is the GT9 Vmax's price tag of €895,000 (US$1.16 million at today's exchange rates), not including taxes.

The thing looks like a full on race car. Must have a massive rear axle behind those fake wheel covers with 8 lugs.

That might not be the actually lugs , but the bolt for holding the wheel cover ... it's for better aerodynamic .
