Aussie cops have a knack for hunting down anything on the road that rolls on four-wheels and is load, fast and…furious, but we have a hunch they would prefer to do so while driving the same kind of automobiles themselves…

One of the cars they would love to get their hands on is a bespoke FPV GT RSPEC in police trim, billed as “the most powerful highway patrol car to hit Australian roads“. It is the 150th built GT RSPEC and appropriately, it commemorates the NSW Police 150th anniversary.

But while it comes complete with police livery, lights and all the standard patrol car equipment, it will never be used by cops to chase crooks and speed freaks. Instead, it will be used by the New South Wales (NSW) police for demonstration purposes only.

“Funded by the Motor Accident Authority of New South Wales, the vehicle will be used to promote the road safety aims of the NSW Police at various events, before going on display at the Police Museum in Sydney,” Ford said in a statement.

The Ford Falcon GT-based model comes with a more powerful version of the standard GT RSPEC’s Miami’ BOSS 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine delivering an output of 536hp (400kW / 544PS), up from 449hp (335kW / 455PS).
