The 200,000th DS3 rolled off Citroën’s assembly line at its Poissy plant in France on Wednesday, November 14. That’s not too shabby if you consider that, the DS3 was launched in Europe in March 2010 as a more premium offering than the company’s mainstream C3 in the supermini segment.

The DS3’s first venture outside of Europe came towards the end of 2010, followed by Argentina in 2011, Brazil in the first half of this year and China in the second half of 2012, which means Citroën can increase its sales numbers over the next years.

After its introduction in Europe, Citroën released several new editions of the DS3 including the sporty Racing model, the more stylish DS3 by Orla Kiely and the luxury DS3 Ultra Prestige, while the car also enjoyed success in the World Rally Championship (WRC).

At the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Citroën unveiled the latest addition to the DS3’s family with the Cabrio model that will go on sale early next year.
