New 2013 Porsche Cayman Spotted Undisguised at a Warehouse!

|

Porsche isn't telling us what new "compact sports car" it plans to reveal at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, but we all know that the Germans are talking about the new generation of the Cayman sports coupe.

And it is the next Cayman that Instagram user "Frod1966" captured on camera parked in what looks like a warehouse of some sort (we don't know where), wearing nothing but some fake decals on the headlamps and taillights in some twisted effort to hide its true identity from prying eyes. Evidently, the trick didn't work...

The smaller and more importantly, lower-priced brother of the 991-series 911 is essentially the hardtop iteration of the latest Boxster, with which it shares its platform, interior and of course, flat-six engine range comprising a 265HP 2.7-liter unit for the base model and a 315HP 3.4-liter for the S version.

From these pictures, it appears that the styling of the 2013 Cayman has matured and now looks more like a real coupe than a last minute effort to place a hardtop on the Boxster roadster.

More to come so stay tuned…

This new one is based on the boxster then ?? Would be interesting to see how it compares with the 911 since the boxster is already - pretty close.

Whats up with the weird looking headlights? It looks like someone just put a sticker on there like the door for NASCAR vehicles..

The Cayman is growing up and its styling is nearly as hot as the 991 from the front. I am very much looking forward to its official reveal in LA.

I disagree, but I can't afford either model so my opinion doesn't count

These look shopped, I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time...

It's a shame you didn't give credit to the source that reported these images first, see here:

#Planetnine: We first saw the Porsche images on the Dutch Autoblog website. As always, we didn't stop there and looked for the original source a.k.a. the person who actually took the photos and which were posted on Instagram. As you can see for yourself, both were credited in our post.

In addition, I find it a tad ironic that you use the words "shame" and "credits" when you DID NOT credit the author of the pictures nor provide a link in your forum's posting.

The car is partially masked/disguised the head and tail lights have decals (plastic pictures covering them) I think the rear hatch also has a lot camouflage .
The masking under the wing mirror is also part of some camo
Strange if this car is on its way to USA for the motor show unveiling why is it having German number plates (or any plates) .
I own a 2012 cayman and love the curves on it ,shame they seem to have been made more squared off on this model,it looks like a two door panemera .
Maybe it has a lot more camo that we cant pick out
