Some cars can sell themselves, but it never hurts to spice things up if it can help to spread around the word. Case in point, Kim Ridley who owns the Ridley’s Rides car dealerships in Eugene, Oregon.
Ridley posted an ad for a low-mileage 1977 Datsun 280Z on eBay, which contained pictures of a young woman supposedly posing sensually (we'll disagree, but everyone to his own taste, of course) on the Japanese coupe.
Nothing-new right? Well, not exactly, as what makes this story interesting is that Ridley claimed in an interview with Adweek that the woman in the photos was his young daughter, something he took back, but only after the car was sold for $7,500 or about €5,800.
“It started out as a joke because somebody put a rude comment on my eBay listing,” Ridley told NY Daily News. “Somebody picked up on it and I thought, ‘Ah, what the heck?’”
The comment Ridley was talking about was made by a prospective buyer who asked, “Does buying the car include a free ‘ride’ with the porn star?”, and to which he replied, “Nice way to talk about my daughter!”
As it turns out, the 20-year old blonde was just one of Ridley's friends and not his daughter. In fact, Ridley has only two sons.
"It’s amazing how this took off," he told the news site. "It’s just crazy. It’s funny how people pick up on something and blow it up and make it huge."
“Hey, whatever attracts attention to an ad,” he added. “And if you watch TV much, my little deal is nothing compared to those Carl’s Jr. ads.”

I would think you should be able to find good examples of this car for under $3000 pretty easily. Not sure why a 77 would fetch so much, unless it's a low vin number, which it's not. Sucker born every minute I suppose. And I agree that those wheels suck
