What might look to us like a foolish act by a young man who rode a go-kart on a busy road in Sydney's southwest, has infuriated Australian police as well as the local media.
A passenger of a car following on from behind filmed the man traveling on the road before he slammed on the brakes, losing control and performing a 180-degree turn to avoid running a red light.
A NSW Police spokesman told 9News, "We need to remove that menace from the road," while the Herald Sun posted an online news story titled "Does anybody know this imbecile?".
Network Ten News reported that the go-kart driver could face fines of $1,258 for being unregistered, $496 for being unlicensed and $596 for being uninsured, while if a judge found that he was driving dangerously, he could also be sentenced up to nine months in jail.

"Menace", "imbecile"... sigh... I think I like Mad Max's Australia better.
It's borderline martial law here nowadays :(
Be careful Australia. Every day sees more of your civil rights permagone.
How's that more dangerous than a scooter? What a bunch of safety nazis.
The guy stoped at the red light.... have you seen the effort he made to do it? A scooter would be a lot dangerous....
OH, THE MENACE!!!
yeah, they're doing it here too, bit by bit.
he may be all of that , europeon
but am sure the reaper will come for him soon enough
Yup, but that's his choice to make.
Rules should be enforced by education, not by restricting personal and civil rights.
You cannot educate some stupid people no matter how hard you try.
There´s someone with a Ford Ka in the first seconds of the Video - that Car is far more dangerous than the Kart ;)
I wouldn't be surprised if this menace to society received the death penalty for his actions. Man kills 20 kids, guy drives go kart...when will it stop!?
on the Ka subject... he did accelerate faster than the Ka behind him so I support your point :)
been thar a few times ..... hehehe but I reckon some people are just that fubar
