For the month of December, Hyundai has issued two separate recalls for its 2012 model year Veloster sports hatch in the States.
According to the carmaker, it is possible that the sunroof assembly may have been weakened during installation at the factory, and as a result, the glass panel may break while the vehicle is on the move.
In a separate action, Hyundai told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that 4,490 Velosters from the 2012MY, built from July 2, 2011, through February 27, 2012 and equipped with a stick shift, may suffer from a problem with the handbrake.
"Moisture and road grime may cause the parking brake components to bind," Hyundai said in a filing with the NHTSA. "If the parking brake components bind, the parking brake may not operate properly, and the parking brake may drag while driving or may not fully engage when the vehicle is parked."
The Korean manufacturer said both recalls are expected to begin during January 2013.
