Official imagery of the all-new and for the most part, production ready BMW Concept 4-Series was leaked onto the internet today, several weeks ahead of the car's world premiere at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
The concept study confirms the different nomenclature BMW has chosen for the coupe, convertible and the Gran Coupe sports sedan variants of the F30 generation 3-Series.
So how close is the study to the production model that will follow next year? Well, BMW has a tradition of lightly masking upcoming models and naming them concepts. All you have to do is look at the 2010 Concept 6-Series to see that the Concept 4-Series is 99 percent ready.
The only components we see changing are the tail lamp graphics, the rear bumper design and the full leather treatment with accent stitching for the interior that shares the same dashboard with the 3-Series Sedan and Touring models.
The sleek looking coupe with the aggressive and upright fascia will also share its underpinnings with the 3-Series, so expect a similar mix of turbocharged four-and six-cylinder gasoline and four-cylinder diesel engines (the latter in select regions), linked to 6sp manual and 8sp automatic transmissions, with AWD to be offered as an option.
More to come once BMW officially comes out with the press release.

wow *picks up jaw off ground* just wow
I cannot wait for BMW to get rid of its stupid taillight design.
Poetry !
Front bumper looks like the one from the new 2014 E63.
sexyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
Can't wait to see one in the metal but the interior finish is weird. Faux wicker cup holders, timber finish, it's resembles a picnic in a log cabin.
Wow! Loving it. They nailed it - headlights look aggressive and I so hope they offer the very same interior as an upgrade - its lush in leather w/ fine stitching & alcantara headliner- I would pay extra. I was looking at the upcoming Lexus IS (sadly, the Lexus RC350 is at least another year away) but this 4 Series coupe may be the ticket.
Just beautiful. I don't know who's designing bmw vehicles these days but between the 4 series and 6 series grand coupe. These cars are just stunning to look at.
The front is amazing, side line is also cool, but the rear is terrible
The exterior is fine, but that interior is gross.
That is going to be a hell of an expensive car - this was BMWs strategy in the first place anyway.
WOW! Very nice!
I don't understand, why a concept? Won't they present the actual car in Detroit??
To answer treys question. The chief designer is an Arab guy named Ibn habib... Better than bangle at least. Lol. He also designed the new 6 and 7.
The Car is the copy of the A5 by Audi ,BMW has clearly ran out of ideas .
