The high-performance version of the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe sports saloon is a secret no more – well, at least in what concerns its exterior appearance, as official photos of the M6 variant appeared on the web today.

BMW’s M6 Gran Coupé features the same bespoke styling cues and aerodynamic parts as its two-door brethren. These include a carbonfibre reinforced plastic roof, different bumpers, side skirts, a rear diffuser flanked by twin exhaust pipes on either side, 20-inch wheels, plus chrome trims on the double kidney grille and fender air vents.

You won’t be surprised to learn that the M6 Gran Coupé features the same S63Tü 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 with 553hp (560PS) and 680Nm (501 lb-ft) as the M5 sedan and M6 Coupe and Cabriolet.

Full details on the car are expected to be released soon, while the world premiere of the car will take place at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in mid-January.
