In recent years, the widespread availability of affordable, on-board cameras, have offered us a first person view of many accidents that take place at the Nürburgring racetrack each year during public sessions.
One such mishap on the 'Ring involving a BMW 1-Series hatch (we can't make out the model from the clip) was recorded on film by the camera of a car that was following from behind.
In the footage, we see the 1-Series first chasing and then overtaking a BMW 6-Series Coupe before the driver loses control of the hatch, which spins and smashes into the protective barrier, sending it into the air.
We don't know the fate of the driver / passengers (we hope no one was seriously injured), but many commentators on YouTube criticized the two following motorists for not stopping at the scene of the accident.
We looked up the official regulations (dated December 2012), where it is clearly stated in Section 2 that "The entire Nürburgring, including the hard shoulders, is an absolute no-stopping zone".
Thanks to Dimitri for the tip!

Ah... the Pflanzgarten corner. At least he managed to get past the Brunnchen corner.
It seems the driver in the car filming want's to stop but his passanger actually says they can't be stationary there and that they might get hit from behind by another car.
If you have half a brain, the Nordschleife is a fantastic place to drive! I hope they're all OK but obviously the driver didn't have half a brain.
Noise regulation on a race track, I saw it on my own - they must be kidding, no wonder why 'Ring go bankruptcy!
