We don’t why you would want to, but as it turns out, you can own a SsangYong in the United States, or kind of, since the seller of this low mileage 2011 SsangYong Actyon Sports that has been re-engineered to run on battery power doesn’t mention the truck’s name or brand.

Instead, the California seller lists it as “Other Makes” – so when someone asks you what you’re driving, you’ll simply say, “a 2011 Other Makes 4-Door w/Utility Bed”.

From the eBay page, we learn that this is a 100 percent electric vehicle with a top speed of 35mph (56km/h) and a driving range of 25 miles (40 kilometers), with the seller stating, “This vehicle doesn’t look like the typical junk from overseas – it’s the same size as a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab, just electric.”

The “Buy it Now” price for the foxy-faced SUV with a pickup-truck bed that has been driven for 1,000 miles (a little over 1,600km) is $18,000, although the seller is also accepting offers in case you’re interested.

eBay Seller’s Description

“For sale is a 100% EV Electric Vehicle. It’s licensed and registered in the state of California as a street legal vehicle (We have the title, registration and licensing/plates). Many people call them NEV’s or LSV’s, but this vehicle doesn’t look like the typical junk from overseas – it’s the same size as a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab, just electric. It currently goes about 25 miles on a single charge, but switch to Lithium and go twice as far. 🙂 (Note: Lithium, these days, is an easy swap… batteries, Battery Management System, and re-programming the charger (download of algorythym’s via computer) is pretty much all you need to do – a golf car company can do it for you…)

We are having it programmed for 35mph now, but if you do a new ring/pinion in the back differential, expect about 50mph. It’s a roomy vehicle, not a toy like a GEM or Zapp or ?? coming from China. It hooks up to a Club Car controller, was built right here in Southern California with the help of High Performance Green Cars (Ontario, California), and is professionally engineered.

This vehicle features two airbags, seat belts, turn signals, bumpers, power mirrors, power door locks, power brakes, power windows, bucket seats in front, Open/Lock keyfob, headlights, an am/fm/cd stereo, interior lights, etc. It conforms to FMVSS and is actually quite fun to drive. To charge it, just use an extension cord from your home or office and plug it in! You can also use a 220v system – it has a built-in receptacle for the 220v, as well.

Why would anybody buy a GEM or EZGO or ?? Golf Cart when something like this is available – actually, unless you were actually using it solely for golf, this is a much better buy and can be more user-friendly in most situations. And lets not forget the secure feeling of being in an actual car vs. being in a golf cart with no protection to speak of… In fact, for tooling around your city or area, a golf-cart is a risky endeavor…

For anybody wishing to simply have a fun vehicle to drive around that only costs approx. $.03 per mile to operate, this is the one! I drive one to work during the week and haul stuff around in the bed… very delivery friendly!! It’s available to test drive, so there are no smoke & mirrors here… it would actually be great for a Country Club or a Security vehicle around a school or campus or ?? We have sold the other one recently so this is the last one. We are NOT in this business, but did acquire three vehicles and we’re going to keep one and do lithium on it, so… only one more to sell!”
