Listen Up and Vote: New SRT Viper vs Lamborghini Aventador vs Lexus LFA

Three very different schools of automotive thought came together at a Cars and Coffee meeting in Irvine, California, a couple of weeks ago, for a mechanical symphony comprised of 32 cylinders, 19.7-liters and a whopping 1,884-horses.

Thankfully, the revving competition between the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, 2013 SRT Viper and the Lexus LFA was captured on film by several visitors for our enjoyment.

We'll remind you that the Aventador is powered by a mid-mounted 6.4-liter V12 pushing out 691-horses (700PS) at 8,250rpm and 507 lb-ft (690Nm) at 5,500rpm.

Japan's entry, the Lexus LFA, is fitted with a screaming 4.8-liter V10 that generates 553hp (560PS) at 8,700rpm and 354 lb-ft (479Nm) at 6,800rpm.

Finally, America's new SRT Viper has a front-mounted 8.4-liter V10 cranking out 640hp (649PS) at 6,200rpm and 600 lb-ft (814Nm) at 5,000rpm.

After you hear the soundtracks from all three cars in the following videos, place your vote on which car you think has the best one.

The only engines that sound good are the crossplane V8s. Everything else sounds just horrible and people think that louder is better.

Aventador. Why not the LFA?? because it's not a real sound it's a monitored sound.

Aventador then Viper. The LFA sounds like my juice maker. Horrible high pitched noise.

911 GT3 over them all!

Not a fan of the Viper in general, but I think it has the most satisfying sound. The Lexus almost sounds like a crotch-rocket sports bike. The Lambo sounds not good at all.

Of course all the Euro weenies that frequent this site are going to go for the high-pitched screamers.

GodforSaaken the LFA is a GodMobile. Japan knows how to engineer.

Each LFA's exhaust note is individually tuned by Yamaha, and it shows.

Wow, and a standard, classic carb. V8 sounds better that all the 3 together and have real-steal tailpipes not faked plastic!
