Surely, there are certain situations on the road that can be foreseen, even if you cannot really do anything to avoid an impact, but sometimes, life throws you a curveball out of nowhere…
We're not going tell you what happened in this dash-cam video, but we will warn you that it's a horrifying surprise, one that no driver or passenger would ever want to experience.
Here's hoping that no one was seriously injured from the violent accident.

SUVs, the bane of civilized driving, no matter which country they infest.
Speechless.
I sure wasn't! I hope nobody was seriously hurt. DAMN, that scared the crap outta me and I wasn't even there....
Not quite sure what those plants were doing in the central reservation
but if not there, perhaps the driver would have seen the forthcoming event and
taken action to avoid it? There also appears to be no central reservation
barrier – just the plants.
I have enjoyed your site for a few years now, but I am rethinking visiting it now. You just cannot show something like this video if you do not know if there were horrific injuries to either party. It destroys your credibility as a Cars news site and makes you into a site for blood thirsty voyeurs and kids who like video games. Shame on you. If nobody was seriously hurt then, yes, it is a shocking piece of news, but if they were hurt, it is a piece of ghoulish depravity to show it.
Well, that was quite a surprise, I have to admit. Good to show what can happen, even if your own driving is impeccable.
I totally agree.
Me too.
I agree
Sh.....it!! Hope everybody is alright
I fee the same way totally not needed.
totally agree, you guys should down that video
Just don't watch.
This is really inappropriate material to read in any CAR blogging sites.. I am here to read "covering the latest news in the world of automobiles" but certainly not this nor "POW! Shady used car dealer sucker punches a TV reporter"..
Please consider what's more appropriate to post next time.
How can I know 'not to watch' when there is no description in the accompanying introduction. it makes as much sense as don't watch any video on the web ever, or don't read any text that I don't agree with. How do I know whether I agree with something if I don't read it first? Besides, there is this feature to comment in and therefore I felt obliged to do so. I could say just don't read my comments :)
Not trying to start a flame war, but your comment didn't really help me.
Kind of a wake call, isn't it?!
The # of ppl I still see today yapping on their phones, texting, playing with the radio, do everything but paying attention to where they're going... more vids like this need to surface to drill it home that driving a motor vehicle of any kind is serious business & needs your full attention!
You call it gore, I call it reality. Shyt like this happens everyday. Pull your head out of your ass & think about the "what if" everytime your driving your vehicle and let's all get home safely.
You should be pleased to know I already consider driving a serious and dangerous occupation and I don't require 'cheap thrills' to remind me. I find that driving around 30,000 miles a year has taught me that a head up my a$$ would impede my vision. Perhaps you should heed your own advice and then you wouldn't require videos like this to remind you that driving is a serious business.
I joke about some pretty crude topics, mj, maddie, jimmy s, but even I find this slighty irresponsible. At least only wait until you know if everyone is okay, otherwise some poor friend or relative could see their loved one getting killed over and over and over and over again. For a light hearted car website, this is potentially deep shit...more suited for thatsphucked..com maybe?...
how can it be ghoulish if u dont see dead bodies in it?..it is just any other car crash vid u see....nothing more, nothing less...btw..at least u know the woman in the camera car survived..u can still hear her screaming
Good news. No one was seriously hurt according to multiple sources.
It was an extreme example of your typical (and far too common) Dashboard camera recording (usually from Russia) It's as if the site owners don't have enough news to fill the site so resort to Russian, easy to find pap. However, the editors normally post something about the occupants of these accidents, which in turn gives me the 'heads up' if the footage is genuinely nasty. This site now seems to favour shock and awe as a substitute for real world news and as it shifts it's content to the You-Tube shock-em -to-entertain-em style, I take less interest. Reading the comments in this thread shows many support my beliefs. I think it's a shame as the site did something a little different to most others. Still, Autocar is a good source for car news and they haven't resorted to cheap thrills.
Come on Carscoop, more news. less accident vids (I can get hours of them on You Tube if I want that sort of stuff), you're a car blog site not a voyeurs drive through.
so this video stays.... Carscoop 1, Amanda 0
Cheap thrills, that's what you got from this?! Grow up already & quit being a hippy liberal!
This kind of reminds me of the Johnson's First Aid vids I saw as kid in the 70's, they didn't phuck around censoring any of the gore in those films & for good reason! To prove to you what it'll look like if should you or some one be careless & also what you'll have to overcome, the visual aspect of all the blood & broken bones, severed limbs ect, to save your own life or some one else's!
I drove trk for 15yrs, from northern Sask/Alta to Texas and I've seen a lot of wrecks along the way... I haven't been in a bad one myself (touch wood), but have had a lot of close calls that could've been deadly a second or two earlier/later.
This video aint no cheap thrill... if you have teenage kids just starting to drive (or about to), you should be showing it to them & hammering home what a moments inattention can turn into.
There's a lot more traffic on the roads today with a lot higher speed limits than when I was kid 30yrs ago. Back in the day, to do 75 -85mph in the $300 beaters we had, we were on the brink of out of control. Today's cars (5yr old beaters even) with the sophisticated control they have, 85 is nothing to cruise smoothly... and far too many travel regularly at that speed & think they're safe.
This video should be praised for the great teaching tool that it is... and no less at the expense of some one else's horror!
why was this not part of 'fast & furious 6'
"Hippy liberal" :D You missed your vocation driving trk, you should do more stand-up. Sadly as you have not had the privilege of meeting me, you can not know my politics or indeed anything much about me. But as I have already grown up and learned how to make my own mind up, I think you might find that you are wasting your rather irate sounding breath, by lecturing me :D I stand by my original and subsequent posts, that this is allegedly a 'Carscoop' site reporting on the latest automotive news. Well I have scoured a lot of sites to find out news on this sensationalist bit of tat video and failed. That is because it isn't news, it is merely lowest common denominator cut-and-paste journalism and as I said before (zzzzzz) this site used to be worth more. Perhaps it is you that needs to grow up and I think some camomile tea would help you calm down :)
It's only the start :D ....or perhaps I have some ironing to do :D :(
Actually I see now they post a guy riding his bike backwards and falling off. Neither a car or indeed anything with an engine involved. News-worthy? I think not.
Videoscoop 2, Amanda 0
Great news. Now why couldn't the site owner have posted that?
As for a 'teaching tool! you should open your stand-up routing with that one. It teaches us........er............stuff can happen, even if you driving along sensibly and minding your own business. What can we learn from this 'teaching tool' of a video......absolutely nothing. The occupants of the video car were passengers in the events that unfolded. they could do nothing to avoid the accident and nether could anyone else with out the prescient powers of Spiderman (I am guessing he wouldn't have to use a car so perhaps he isn't the best example)
Amanda, I've been following your comments on this post. Of course, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and I respect yours, even though I kindly disagree – there's no gore and as someone else noted, I didn't find any evidence that anyone was seriously injured in this crash based upon the information we have.
I've tried many times to explain the logic behind the Offbeat News section to those of you who disagree, and the bottom line is that, you can't enforce your own rules on authors, or to make it more general, on the rest of the readers. It's like someone saying that they disagree (for whatever reasons) with the comments you made, therefore, you should be banned.
Basically, it's impossible to satisfy all readers when it comes to content. Period. And if you've been following CarScoop, as you say, then you should be aware of the fact that Offbeat News and crash videos have been around for years on this site. It's far from something new.
With all due respect, let me ask you a question; since this video post, we've uploaded 23 more stories – from first pictures, to scoops, an editor piece and everything in between. Besides this video, on which other article have you comment on?
I see your politics through your comments... your clouded view, your foolish choice of living in a placebo world of blissful ignorance, see no evil hear no evil speak no evil, turn a blind eye to reality... don't worry - be happy. lol
Irate? Hardly. I've accepted long ago that world is full of stupid ppl and at their own choosing for the most part, there'll never be any changing of that.
Once again you're missing the bigger picture here, the person(s) of the video car is, unfortunately, the victum of some one else's ignorance... don't know the details of the chain reaction that led up to this, but chances are less likely freak of nature vs bad driving habbits -> drive like a blissful idiot & this is what you might do to some one else... would be the message.
Not saying you behave this way, but I disagree with your liberal censorship & dim view that it was shown here virtually for cheap thrills only.
You see this is why it's impossible to have a structured and reasonable discussion on an interweb forum. I make a comment about the sites content, aimed at the editor who chose to post the original video. Then along comes some keyboard warrior who just has to make it personal. Rather than him start with "in my view" or "I don't agree with" we get " ...Grow up already & quit being a hippy liberal!". That's mature :D Still for every bigot there is presumable someone a little better balanced and able to discuss things without making it personal. I am glad I don't drive in your country as I fear your inbuilt rage (which I see in your post.....I like the way I can tell so much from a persons post, just in the same way you can) would only lead to an accident, or road rage as we call it over here and Sod Law would mean I would be on the receiving end of it.
Anyway, as this isn't really productive and you seem more intent on making this personal (and I fell for it and got dragged in too, shame on me) I feel I will leave you to your wonderful world were you enjoy watching/reading-about people be shocked and dismayed and you are the master of all opinion. Please respond if you like, I won't be bothering to read it :)
Oh and if Carscoop are reading this (before they shut this thread down :D) how about a reduction in the none automotive news videos please. I read your piece about the MX5 and can see there is still the Journo' in you :)
"Please respond if you like, I won't be bothering to read it :)"
Ofcourse you will, who you kidding?! lol
I've made some points of why this shouldn't be censored. You've clearly indicated that the point of it all is beyond your grasp of understanding, only wanting it censored solely for the purpose of protecting your happy place bubble... this is now becoming "beating a dead horse" scenerio... good to hear you're over there, an ocean away. :)
Well the video is gone, and I don't get to see it now that I'm curious about its' content. All I can say for this is thanks to all of you that complain about pointless crap. No one's forcing you to watch any video on here. It's at the Viewer's descretion. If the moderators wish to post something, they're within their full right to do so, regardless of how "inappropriate" it could be. Everyone perceives things differently. And don't even start blaming things of ill-nature on people who like video games. That's a Bulls@*t stereotype. There's millions of people who 'like' video games that aren't blood-crazed degenerates as you suggest. Join the real world for once and think for yourselves. Since this video was described as a violent accident, even though I didn't get to see it, I'd imagine it was posted to portray what can happen when you're being retarded or just unfortunate when behind the wheel of your vehicle. Learn from it...
