An allegedly leaked image of the new BMW 4-Series Convertible that surfaced on the internet today making its way on several sites, with or without their logos on the picture, is just a speculative rendering, Carscoop can reveal.

How can we be so sure? Well, because we traced it down to the original source that is this month’s edition of the French magazine Auto Moto released on February 7, 2013, and in which the publication had a lengthy article on BMW’s upcoming 4-Series that included a rendering of the coupe as well.

The real 4-Series Convertible, a taste of which you can get through our most recent spy photos, is expected to be revealed later this year and possibly enter series production in November. The four-seater model will be offered with turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, and 3.0-liter straight-six petrol engines.
