We have no idea when McLaren was planning to share new images of its P1 hypercar, but nine photos showing the final production model have just hit the interwebs. How can we be sure that this is the production version and not the concept?
Easy. Besides the new color, the P1 in these images features added carbon fiber air-vents on both corners of the front bumper, road tires and a tighter mesh for the rear end vent, all of which were announced by a McLaren spokesperson during a private showing in New York back in December.
McLaren has also told us that the P1's hybrid powertrain combines a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and an electric motor producing a system output of 903HP (916PS) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque, with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox sending power to the rear wheels.
The lightweight hypercar will be able to cover about 10 kilometers (around 6 miles) on electric power alone with zero emissions.
We're still waiting for McLaren to release performance figures, but expect a zero to 100km/h (62mph) in well under 3 seconds and a top speed over 350km/h (217mph).

217 mph so why wouldnt a person just buy an old F1 and get a car that is innovative rather than this "environmental hyper car"?
i think you just answered your own question
Mclaren hasn't release any official figure. Old F1 is restricted to 231mph with rev limiter on while with limiter off it was able to achive 242mph. Once the car in production, I will wait for someone with titanium nuts to take the car to the max with the limiter off, on the straightest road they can find.
Well it can be a powerful and good looking car but I like MP4 - 12C more because that is what reminds me more of F1 than this.
Man, that car looks super mega happy smiley from the front :D
That face and smile looks a bit silly... and I think there is too much carbon fiber visible in interior and doesn't look as clean and pretty as MP4-12C's interior. But overall, it's so beautifully sculpted, especially love the top view.
smiling dolphin's face!
Don't know what you are smoking...but the "old" F1 is not only rare but a serious collectors item and can easily exceed $5million.... so your logic is still born..
900+HP, F1 tech, and cupholders.... glorious carbon fibre cupholders! I remember when door handles were a lux item on autos like this ;)
The top view kicks-ass!!
