New Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG Edition 1, Plus First Video Trailer

|

As with most newly launched Mercedes-Benz models these days, the A45 AMG will be offered in a special trim grade named Edition 1 for a limited run during the car's first year on the market.

What the "Edition 1" brings to Stuttgart's hottest hatch is some custom styling touches, while also ticking most boxes on the options list, for a more affordable price than if ordered separately.

On the outside, the A45 AMG is finished in a 'Cirrus White' paint job and gets sports stripes in matt graphite grey on the bonnet, roof and sides, a standard Aerodynamics package that adds a rear wing, extra flics on the front apron and a larger front splitter.

Furthermore, the mirror, front grille, brake calipers and the rear wing come with red accent paint, and the car rides on black 19-inch wheels with a red center cap and tires size 235/35 R 19.

Black and red are the dominant colors in the interior of the A 45 AMG "Edition 1", which boasts "AMG Performance seats" in ARTICO man-made leather and DINAMICA microfiber, with the same material used on the top section of the dashboard. Other notable changes include the steering wheel dressed in nappa leather and DINAMICA microfiber, SELECT lever with embossed AMG emblem and the "Edition 1" badge on the AMG DRIVE UNIT.

There are no performance upgrades with the Edition 1 fitted with the same 355hp (360PS) 2.0-liter turbo engine as the standard A45 AMG.

Pricing for the special edition model as well as the regular A45 AMG will be announced after its world premiere at the Geneva Auto Salon.

If you scroll down, you will find a list with all the individualization options for the performance hatch, along with the first video trailer.

It's a bit odd with those flicks on the front and the alrger rear spoiler, btu I have to admit that I like it. I wonder how it performs on road & track.

This would make for an excellent commuter. Too bad the hatch is not offered in the US although I've warmed to the sedan.

isn't this a little similar to the 'edition xx' volkswagens? Look at the latest edition 25 Transporter just released.....couldn't MB be arsed to come up with an original stripe!

Wow, that's a car that you first look at and think "Very cool" and then look more closely, look at all the odd things attached to it and think "Yikes. No way". Very bizarre design, IMO.

Thanks For sharing informational article..

I have a c300 and I am looking for a site that sells mercedes benz brand parts? I am looking for brakes and rotors

finally I found one site. The best quality parts are from your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer, of course. If you want

to save some money, http://MBZPARTS.com is by FAR the best for OEM parts -- that is, parts made by the same

manufacturer who makes it for Daimler.

That said, are you looking for some kind of "upgrade", or if you do honestly need new parts, get here. They cost

much less than the dealer part and are better.
