What do you see in this teaser image released by Seat on its social media channels today? A car covered up in a white blanket, right?

Well, if you take a closer look, you will notice a few more interesting details such as the outline of the headlights, the hatchback shape of the body and a door handle that’s located far more back than usual suggesting a three-door configuration.

All these details lead us to believe that what we’re looking at here is the new Leon SC three-door hatchback, and being that the 83rd edition of the Geneva International Motor Show is just around the corner, we think Seat is teasing the new car ahead of its world premiere in Switzerland.

The VW Group-owned brand has long confirmed its intent to expand the range of the new generation of the Leon family with a three-door hatchback and an estate model. In fact, Seat boss James Muir told us about the carmaker’s plans during his speech at the presentation of the five-door model at last year’s Paris Motor Show:

“The new Leon will be a key pillar in our future success – especially when the Leon family expands to include a striking three-door version and a versatile, stylish wagon,” said Muir.

The Leon is Seat’s first model to be built on the VW Group’s flexible MQB platform architecture that underpins the new VW Golf Mk7and the Audi A3.
