It has only been a year (and a couple of weeks, to be precise) since Renault updated the Scenic and its longer-wheelbase Grand Scenic sibling last January, but the French carmaker took the opportunity of the unveiling of the new Scenic XMOD to apply another refresh to its minivan series.
On the outside, the Scenic and Grand Scenic take on Renault’s new design identity as seen on the Clio and Captur crossover with the use of a traditional grille encompassing a larger version of the brand's logo, while interior improvements are limited to Renault's latest R-Link infotainment system featuring joystick control plus a touchscreen display.
Renault also made changes to the engine lineup with the introduction of three Energy powertrains, noting the new Energy TCe 130PS boasts a 15 per cent improvement in fuel consumption over the previous TCe 130 unit, equivalent to a combined-cycle saving of more than 1 liter/100km.
The 2013 model Scenic and Grand Scenic will debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show with European sales to begin shortly after.

Don't the underpinnings and some external elements like the doors go back to the 2003 megane scenic or did I make that up? Either way, this will depreciate like it's been driven off a cliff and will be appaulingly unreliable... Shame; I used to love Renaults!
This would be a rebadge of the next generation Nissan Livina and Grand LIvina!
Yes the underpinnings are modified Megane II, like the Megane III, and the Laguna III is a modified Laguna II but in Carlos Ghosns quest for quality, the build quality (and most importantly the electrics) are very good on the new models. The same can't be said for PSA, the new 308 or whatever they call it these days has modified Citroen ZX/Peugeot 306 underpinnings and the quality is still awful!
I was a big hater of french cars but 3 years working at a Renault dealer and a very poor experience with VW and a bad MK5 Golf GTI made me realise that Renault aren't that bad. The documented problems with them can be sorted cheaply with a call to customer services! The Megane III, even in GT trim, is a very very nice place to be. Sit in one and you'll love Renaults again!
