Scoop: Skoda Prepping Superb for a Mild Facelift

|

These are the latest images of the upcoming Skoda Superb facelift spotted while testing in Europe. The Czech carmaker's flagship model in both saloon and estate body styles will receive some mild cosmetic touches on the outside to bring it in line with the rest of the range and in particular the new Rapid and Octavia models.

Externally, it appears that the lightly camouflaged test car features a new and wider waterfall-style grille along with mildly revised headlamp and bumper designs at the front, and a different styling for the rear bumper and possibly, new tail lamp clusters as Skoda engineers covered the lights with faux decals.

We haven't had the opportunity to see the interior yet, but we expect Skoda to make at least some changes to the cabin décor and equipment features, while the updates will likely be rounded out with minor tweaks to the powertrain lineup.

The facelifted Superb is one of six new or revamped models that Skoda plans to introduce this year.

Too bad they didnt redesign the C-pillar and the door rear window...
That's really what makes the combi much nicer.

Skoda has been doing "mild uplifts" to the same cars for two decades now.

IMO, VW should have just put a VW badge on this and sold it in the US as some "Supersized Passat"...
