After South Korea, Toyota’s U.S.-assembled Venza vehicles will soon be exported to Russia and Ukraine as well, the Japanese carmaker announced today.

Toyota said that once production begins at the company’s Georgetown, Ky. plant in April 2013, it expects to ship around 5,000 Venza crossovers to the two countries during the first year of sales.

“We are proud that Toyota’s U.S. manufacturing operations are continuing to grow as a key supplier of vehicles for global markets, which is only possible thanks to the dedication and high-quality work of our team members here,” stated Shigeki Terashi, president and COO of Toyota Motor North America. “We expect the export of Venza vehicles to Russia and Ukraine will help further solidify our U.S. manufacturing base.”

Toyota has been increasing exports from its U.S. facilities reaching an all-time record of more than 124,000 U.S.-assembled vehicle sales to 21 global markets in 2012, up 45 percent over the previous year.
