2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS Revealed on Morning Television Show! [Updated]

Well, here's a new one; the redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS was unveiled in the flesh on the Live show with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, with a Camaro5 forum member quickly taking some screen shots of the car that was in the television studio.

The first major redesign of the fifth generation Camaro since its release in 2009 brings a new front end styling with a sharper looking and much slimmer grille piece, different headlamps, a new bumper and black air vents positioned on the center of the hood.

At the back, the 2014 model features new LED (?) tail lamps similar, if not identical, to those used on the European market model.

There are no screen shots of the cockpit, but according to the person who watched the show, "the interior doesn't look like there is much of a change from 2013. It was hard to see, only about 5 seconds per change, but the changes are noticeable".

As for the powertrain options, according to a posting on the Live show's website, the Camaro will continue with the same trio of engines:

  • The 2014 Camaro lineup includes:
  • The 323-horsepower (241 kW) V-6-powered LS coupe and LT coupe and convertible – including the 2LS with an EPA-rated 30 mpg on the highway,
  • The Camaro SS coupe and convertible, with a 6.2L V-8 delivering up to 426 horsepower (318 kW), The 580-horsepower (432 kW) supercharged Camaro ZL1 coupe and convertible.

The official reveal of the new Camaro will take place at the New York Auto Show on Wednesday, March 27.

Update: Interior screenshot added after the break.

New grille really gives off an econobox feel and is out of proportion. Should have spent the budgets/energies really making the interior world class.

So at what age did your vision start to go?

Those tail lamps are still trying to find an identity, but this isn't the only Chevy with the same problem.

So you're saying the new CTS is ugly? Well it's not! It's beautiful and it would seem that most people agree with me, just go check the comments! However, I don't see much improvement over the pre-facelift Camaro.

Am I the only one who actually likes most of the changes (except for the tail lights, those aren't really creative....). The front looks badass in my opinion!

Yeah, it does look like it's own Chinese rip off xD

Tail looks like an old Firebird. At least we know what GM did with Pontiac's designs.

I like the changes. I think the rear is similar to the old 69 Camaro tail lights. I would get one if not saving up for the Vette. I must admit I like these tail lights more than the Vette tail lights. It be perfect if the Vette gave the Camero's lights back and went round.
