It has loads of space, a practical station wagon body, all the comfort amenities and technological gadgets you could wish for, and the best part, enough muscle under its hood to put most modern sports cars to shame.
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Audi RS6 Avant that celebrated its world premiere this week at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland.
Audi's independent Quattro GmbH division developed the super-estate model, which will not be offered for sale in America, fitting it with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that develops a generous 552-horses (560PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of peak torque, coupled to an 8sp tiptronic and a permanent all-wheel drive system.
While the RS6 Avant can carry all your family's luggage and then some more in its voluminous cargo compartment (565 liters with the rear seats up), it can also complete the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in 3.9 seconds, while depending on the package, it tops out at 250km/h (155mph), 280km/h (174mph) or 305km/h (190mph).
If that's not enough, Quattro boss Stephan Reil, recently confirmed plans for an even more powerful version with the "Plus" moniker.
