It is pretty clear that Citroen is keen to build its image throughout Asia in general, but especially in China. After revealing the sleek DS Numero 9 concept at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, the French carmaker is said to be planning the world premiere of a new study named the DSX (or DX-S) at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, which starts in April.

Currently, we don’t have any official images of the new concept, but we do get a blurry shot, allegedly photographed during the filming of an official promo video.

From the single shot, it looks like it’s going to be a mid-size crossover-type vehicle sporting a huge badge up front. Speaking of the badge, it will probably light up in a diffuse fashion, as is now the trend with green vehicles – it must be oversized and glow in the dark. That said, there’s a good possibility that the DSX will be either a hybrid or an all-electric model.

The DSX may preview a new crossover model, which would sit above the DS5 in Citroen’s luxury DS lineup. For confirmation, we will have to wait for Citroen to release the video of the concept, which was purportedly shot at the Gorges du Tarn (a canyon in the south of France).
