If moving people around is what you’re looking for most in a vehicle, then you can’t ignore Ford’s new Tourneo lineup, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, which consists of three all-new models: Courier, Custom and Connect. The main difference between these three models is the number of people they can carry, which ranges from five to nine.

The smallest model, the Tourneo Courier is based on the same platform as the Fiesta and B-Max, so aside from being a practical people mover, it will also be more fun and engaging to drive. The Courier is also not bad to look at, featuring the current Ford styling language, and at 4.16 meters long with large windows all-round, parking it will not pose any serious problems.

Power will come from a selection of petrol and diesel engines. The diesels will be the main sellers, so the 75 hp 1.5-liter and 95 hp 1.6-liter are the most relevant here. Still, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine, with 100 hp, is an interesting alternative, as well.

Next up is the Tourneo Connect, which can seat up to seven people if you opt for the Grand model, which also has a 400mm longer wheelbase. Being a larger Focus-based vehicle, Ford is offering a higher-powered version of the 1.6-liter diesel, which puts out 115 hp, and “a version” of the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine (which can be had with a six-speed automatic gearbox) over what they offer in the Courier model.

The largest vehicle in the Tourneo range, the Custom can be had with either eight or nine seats, as well as two different wheelbase lengths (4.97 and 5.34 meters). Under its bonnet, Ford will only be offering one engine, their trusty 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi unit, offered in three power output levels: 100, 125 and 155 hp. Still, fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, and Auto-Stop-Start, achieves a combined figure of 6.5 l/100km (43.5 mpg UK) and emits 172 g/km CO2.

All models come fitted with a comprehensive list of safety features, with top models getting a Lane Keeping Alert system and SYNC Emergency Assistance, as well as a reversing camera, speed limiter, Auto High Beam control and Driver Alert.
