Dutch automaker Spyker has been in the news over the last two years, but not because it produce any new models, or concepts, but due to their failed endeavor of buying Saab. The move turned sour, and Spyker was left in debt and struggling.
Now, the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show may be the turning point for the company, as the company shared the first photo of an upcoming concept called the B6 Venator Latin word for hunter) with the Wall Street Journal.
It shows an aggressive and low-slung, mid-engined sports car, which is said to be powered by a 375hp V6 engine, driving the rear wheels through an automatic six-speed gearbox.
Looking at the car, it is typically-Spyker, with the wide front grille, and swept back headlights giving it a very mean looking 'face'.
The car is said to utilize an aluminum chassis and carbon fiber body panels, so weight will be kept down around the 1,400 kg (3,080 lbs) mark. WSJ reported that the production version of the B6 Venator will join an ultra-luxurious SUV, the Peking to Paris, and possibly a luxury car based on Saab's Phoenix platform, which was supposed to underpin the next 9-3.
Spyker Cars Chief Executive Victor Muller told the newspaper that Venator will cost between $160,000 to $200,000 (€125,000 to €150,000), and will be roughly the same size as the current Porsche Boxster, yet will offer unique styling details, especially on the inside, where all Spykers have a handcrafted look and feel.

Your eyes does not fool you my friend. Essentially it is! Apparently Lotus license the platform/ under-pendings to Spyker. One would think that Spyker wouldn't copy to that degree. Anyway I'm a big fan of Spyker. I hope it drives better than the Evora.
Hmm if it looks like a "redesigned" evora doesnt that mean it doesnt look like an evora..........other the 2 cars both being mid engine the styling completely different. as far as the person saying they "copied" which is just idiotic please tell me one styling cue that is similar between the 2?
Really? Your really smart. You want a cookie for the obvious? Besides, I implied not stated it directly. Of course it looks like a Spyker, and I love Spykers. My favorite car.
