As you have probably heard/read by now, Lamborghini is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and, apart from the various events it has organized, the Italian company decided to give itself, and its fans, a present.
This “present” is the Italian Batmobile Veneno – an outrageously styled, 750HP supercar with an exorbitant price of €3 million (US$3.9 million). No need to reach for your wallet, though, because all three examples that will be manufactured have already been sold.
Truth be told, when Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann announced the company’s plans to unveil a “special” model that would "shock and reward" in Geneva, we weren’t expecting a wide-body Aventador with a mild hike in power that could very well star in the next installment of the Dark Knight.
Even so, it’s hard to argue with a 0-100 (0-62 mph) sprint of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h (221 mph). Perhaps Winkelmann was right after all: the Veneno both shocks (observers) and rewards (Lamborghini's coffers)...
You can check out the new Lambo in detail from the Geneva Motor Show in the video and a huge high-resolution picture gallery that follow right after the jump.

Its odd for me to think this but the more i see this car the more i dont like it.....its awesome because its a 4 million dollar Lambo thats ultra exclusive but its both tacky, and garish, and none of the styling cues seem to go together...honestly this thing is seriously awful. Its like one of those sci fi movie cars that has guns and shoots missles. which is cool for that but as a car to kinda drive in its sorta scream please please please im begging you stop and stare at me look how conspicuous i can be....lambos have always been radical but this isnt radical this is ridiculous
The design is not entirely without appeal, but I'm wondering about that intake on the roof, is that RAM air of some sort, looks too small. And what's with the fin, that doesn't look to be Aerodynamically helpful, increased drag as well as providing a destabilizing force in a cross wind.
Its look better than the Ferrari. In person they say it looks like it going to kill you. So, in my book, I like it.
sharp curve model of the third millennium
I asked myself the same thing: Is that fin just a design gag? And I
think the answer is yes. I looked up why newer race cars like the Audi
R18 or the Toyota TS030 have that thing and it turns out, that this some
sort of reglement. The benefit for safety is, that the fin slows the
car down and tries to straighten the car in case of a spin.

Have you noticed that from the back it looks like the old Batmobil, the one Adam West drove?
Take an Aventador, throw in some Zonda R and Audi's current LeMan racing car headlamps and voilà, put a 3 million Euro price tag on it :)
well, sorry guys, it's plane ugly!
I've looked deeply but couldn't find any element that may look nice or pretty.
I'm proud of myself to find that curve in the 90' subaru DL..
but here, NADA, zilch, nothing..
it's a shame.
the only super car that looks cool today is bmw i8, its design of the future, this lambo has some great features but it is overkilled
A SUCKER IS BORN EVERYDAY AND THEY WILL SELL A FEW TO THE "HEY LOOK AT ME CROWD"
I AM NOT SHOUTING THE CAPS LOCK IS AFU ANY SUGGESTIONS.
The hood scoop cools the manifold and maintain the integrety of the floorpan under the engine........suprised you did not know this.
Why the comparative reference to an airplane?
So that fat Intake on the roof is for cooling, the engineers couldn't figure out another way to cool the manifold efficiently, so they put a giant hump and fin on the roof of a $5 million supercar designed for top speed, which is sure to shave at least 10 to 15 mph off the vehicle's Max velocity from the extra drag it's creating, yeah that makes a lot of sense.
You should've just said it's for looks, you would've had a better chance of selling that. :-)
aaron, It's obvious you think you know far more about car design than the Lamborghini designers (or anyone else). They've only produced some of the most stunning cars for a few decades.
With all your god-like insight it begs the question what exactly do you for work ?
I got the information on a radio interview on WRS radio from the Lambo booth.
Thanks for your expertise, I guess they got it wrong.
You really are a pain in the ass, you should get some help with your neurosis.
You're welcome, I have this effect on every scumbag in the car business, because I know you better than you know yourselves :-)
I'm looking at these pictures and I actually find myself staring at the Aventadors in the background
couldn't have said better myself
