Even if it never crossed your mind, we're pretty sure that you would be interested to learn what an Audi R8 V10 Plus with its pants pulled down (or so to speak) sounds like accelerating at full throttle on a dynometer.
As a car company that prides itself for its technological prowess, Audi couldn't simply promote the video through regular channels. Instead, the brand with the four rings is using the (free) image-recognition app Blippar, which allows users of to point their phones at print and poster advertisements of the R8, and instantly bring up 2D photographs on their screens.
"The new Audi R8 V10 plus pushes boundaries in terms of performance and innovation. The use of Blippar technology allows people to interact immediately with the car, and get under its bonnet in a way they simply would not be able to do with a 2D advertisement alone," explains Kristian Dean, National Communications Manager for Audi UK.
"The new video content gives car enthusiasts the opportunity to hear the R8 V10 plus being taken to the red line," he added.
The new R8 V10 Plus was introduced in the facelifted model and is the flagship version of the series featuring a tweaked 5.2-liter V10 engine with an output of 542-horsepower (550PS).

Eargasm!
Hot!! (in more ways than one). Amazing engine that sounds great. I'm ready for a tasteful and unique new design for the R8 - its due sooner than later and the competition is not sitting idle.
Sounds nice but whats the point of it without the exhaust system?
This the pure engine noise and obviously they wanted to show the inside part where the place revolution. That's why they've done it without the exhaust system.
PURE AWESOMENESS!!!
yes but it will never go on the streets like that so nobody will be able to hear it in real life :) on this basis i could take of the exhaust system from my v6 and do the same and it would sound pretty good :)
Fake. The dyno would make a terrible rolling noise at that speed.
A comment from someone who hasn't been in the room with a modern dyno in 15 years
Sounds a lot like an Audi race engine
Nice sound! but...
You should listen to the Mercedes - Benz SLS with exhaust... Your jaw will drop a few inches when it starts!
