All Europe needs right now is another V8-powered supercar, which drinks fuel and costs a fortune. Mazzanti of Italy seem to think otherwise and has just revealed the Evantra V8 supercar, at the 2013 Top Marques Monaco car show, where it is right at home, among others of its kind.

Built on a steel frame, the Evantra gets its motivation from a seven-liter V8, which delivers 701 hp and 848 Nm (625 lb-ft) of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels via either a manual or a sequential gearbox, both of which have six gears.

Claimed performance is brisk, with 100 km/h (62 mph) coming up in 3.2 seconds, while “a maximum velocity of over 350 km/h (218 mph)” can be achieved. Also, it gets the all-important big Brembo brakes (six-pot calipers at the front and four-pot at the back), as well as 305-section rear tires and 20-inch rims all-round.

The car features a built-in roll-cage, which boosts the stiffness of the chassis, while also providing extra protection for the occupants. Only five will be built per year, and each one will be tailor-made to fit the customer’s needs and expectations – the words “trim” and “level” are unheard-of in these cases…
