The Alfa Romeo 4C is a very appealing car, for any type of motorist, with its unique styling, strong and efficient engine and of course the badge (and grille, in this case). It is so appealing, in fact, that UK magazine Autoexpress is saying Maserati is currently looking at the car, and they may make their own version of it, in order to help them reach their target of selling 50,000 cars per year by 2015.

The British publication quotes the Maserati CEO Harald J. Wester, who apparently admitted that a Trident-branded variant of the 4C is “a nice idea.” However, aside from that, there are no solid details or facts regarding this matter, which may or may not materialize into an actual car.

Still, if it does become reality, it will probably ditch the 4C’s four-cylinder turbo engine, and swap it for a V6.

They recently revealed a new V6 engine in China, which makes 330PS (326 hp), and it would also have the extra power needed to distinguish the Maserati from the Alfa, and also justify the predictable price difference which is sure to separate the two models.
