Toyota has prepared a pace-car version of its newly introduced GT86 Cup Edition for this season’s VLN Endurance Racing Championship. The GT86 Cup Edition, of which only 86 examples will be produced exclusively for the German market, brings a host of styling accessories and accents ranging from racing stripes and 18-inch OZ Ultraleggera alloy wheels shod in 225/40 performance tires, to an Alcantara interior.

For its role as a pace car, Toyota’s European motorsports division has dipped into its TRD (Toyota Racing Development) bag of goods upgrading the GT86 Cup Edition with a rear diffuser, quad exhaust pipes, front and rear aprons, side skirts, a bigger boot spoiler, plus a stabilizer set and a strut bar made from carbon fiber. The finishing touch comes from the TRD exterior foil wrap.

The Japanese carmaker pointed out that all the accessories and parts used on the pace car are also available from TRD for the road-going GT 86.
