The French seem pretty serious about this year’s edition of the legendary Pikes Peak Hill Climb that takes place in Colorado on June 30, with Peugeot having developed a special racer that uses the body lines of the 208 supermini and nothing much else since this is a mid-engine model.

Today, Peugeot came out with a picture showing the car’s racing livery with the brand’s traditional motorsport colors and decals of its key partners that include Total, Red Bull and Michelin.

Sitting behind the wheel of the 208 T16 Pikes Peak completion model that is fitted with a 875 horsepower bi-turbocharged V6 sourced from the company’s 908 Le Mans endurance racer, will be rally legend and nine-times world rally champion, Sébastien Loeb, who hopes to repeat the success the brand had in the past with the 205 T16 and 405 T16 Pikes Peak models.
