As fate would have it, just a couple of hours after we showed you why we weren’t (fully) buying into Jaguar’s claims that the patent renders of the F-Type Coupe were of the C-X16 Concept, our spy photographer dropped the first shots of the actual production model caught on a public road.

From what we can tell by looking at these images, the F-Type Coupe looks identical to the vehicle in the patent renders right up to the mirrors (same ones used on the Roadster) and with a few negligible differences, to the C-X16 Concept as well, which in our eyes, is very positive…

We don’t need to tell you that the same powertrains found in the F-Type Roadster, and which include, a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 in 335HP (340PS) and 375HP (380PS) flavors, plus a 488HP (495PS) supercharged V8, all connected to an eight-speed automatic turning the rear wheels, will be on offer for the coupe.

There have been rumors that in some markets, Jaguar may also fit the tin-top model with its 240-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit, but we have yet to hear this from the company itself.

We don’t have a launch date yet, but the F-Type Coupe could arrive as early as next year.
