The Lexus LFA, which went out of production in December of last year, will undoubtedly be remembered as a great car. It was partly down to the wacky angular styling, partly down to the unique scream of its V10 engine and finally to the story of how it came to be and the sheer level of engineering which went into its development.

It is a car which sets Toyota apart from merely being a maker of Camrys and Avalons, and it reminds us that they once built Supras and MR2s.

Now, Lexus has released one final (well, take that with a grain of salt) farewell video for the LFA to remind us all in less than two minutes why it’s so great.

Besides, the Japanese automaker’s message (delivered through its president, Akio Toyoda) regarding the LFA was clear – “We will make our cars sportier because that is appealing, and we will also build new sports cars to really boost the lineup”. Proof of this is the GT-86/Scion FRS, as well as the upcoming effort with none other than BMW – a highly anticipated car, which could materialize into something special, so we will keep our fingers firmly crossed for it.

Many cars in their more mundane range have suffered sporty makeovers already. I think they aren’t quite there yet with the new RAV4, but the redesigned Auris and Avalon are really both much sharper-looking than their predecessors.
