Rolls-Royce sells around 100 cars per year in Russia, according to a recent report published by Bloomberg. It also states that the Anglo-German carmaker is not standing still, and is planning to increase that figure with the introduction of the sporty Wraith coupe, just as the country is planning to impose higher taxes on vehicles costing more than the equivalent of $154,700.

The CEO of the company, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes was recently in St. Petersburg, where he explained the BMW-owned brand’s ambitions for the country. “Russia is very attractive because you see here a lot of individuals that have money,” Mr. Mueller-Oetvoes wittily said, adding that “a lot of entrepreneurs are in Russia building their own businesses. People are perfectly prepared to spend money for luxury goods.”

In addition, with 100 vehicles sold per year, it easily surpasses most other markets where Rolls sells its cars, aside from the US, China and the UK.

Deliveries of the sales-boosting Wraith are set to start in the part of 2013 – a convertible is also in the works. What this means is that the car is ready and all they have to do is fix any small problems that may crop up, arrange to have them shipped around the world, and finally begin taking orders.
